Clive Caldwell  

Co-founder and Chair

President and CEO of Cambridge Group of Clubs. Cambridge Group owns and operates luxury high end fitness clubs, in Toronto’s financial district. All of the clubs have active squash programs. Clive was a club squash professional for 10 years, played on the WPSA Tour in the late 70s, 80s and early 90s and in 1980 and 1981 won the World Professional Hardball Squash Championships

Dennis Nault

Treasurer

Dennis is a retired Chartered Accountant who was, for many years, the CFO for a major accounting firm and then for a leading intellectual property law firm. His passions are his family and grandchildren, home renovations, playing squash and spending time at the family cottage.

Steve Martin

Steve is the owner of Boardsports, a sporting goods business specializing in: snowboard, kiteboard, windsurf, stand up paddle, wakeboard, waterski, skate and surf. Previously Steve worked as an engineer in Industrial Automation. He has a BA and BESc from Western University and received his MBA from Ivey. Steve played competitive junior squash and was a member of the Western Varsity Squash team. He enjoys cheering for his daughter Maddie, while she competes in junior tournament. Steve continues to play squash regularly.

Ian Hayes

Ian is a retired executive having worked many years for a major financial institution in Canada and the US.  He has played the game of squash since attending University and is still trying to learn the fine points.

Faye Thorek

Faye Thorek is an accomplished Executive Search consultant with over 40 years of experience in the Canadian recruitment market. Known for her keen insight and compassionate dedication to her work, Faye envisions herself as an advocate for those with whom she conducts business. She is passionate about people, her family and her community. Faye has sat on the Professional Steering Committee of the HRPAO. She is also a former member of the Board at Bereaved Families of Ontario and the North York Harvest Food Bank.

Bill Fanjoy

William (Bill) Fanjoy – a lawyer for the past 36 years, practicing in the family law area. Avid cyclist, golfer and with love of the game of squash. Happy to share a glass of fine wine with the like-minded. Involved over the years in fund-raising for Heart & Stroke, the Ride to Conquer Cancer and Moorelands (another charity focused on assisting inner-city Toronto children). Very happy to join the Urban Squash Board to help with this terrific charity.

Harvey Bains

Harvey was born in India, raised and educated in Scotland before she moved to Canada to establish her executive career where she held increasingly senior positions with companies such as Adidas, Meadwest Vaco, and KIK Custom Products.  She has over 20 years of procurement and supply chain experience sourcing products from around the world.  She retired as SVP, Global Procurement with responsibility for over $1.5 billion in purchases.

Harvey has a quick wit and a huge love of animals both domesticated and wild and has worked with abused animals.  She is a 40 year veteran equestrian and enjoys time, along with her partner, with their three horses and two dogs.  She believes everyone deserves an opportunity and support to reach their potential.

Ben Kaak

Ben is a retired executive born and raised in London, Ontario before settling as a long time resident of Toronto. Ben has worked in finance for over 40 years as a partner at KPMG and PwC, in investment banking and most recently as EVP & CFO of KIK Custom Products.  He is an alumni of the University of Waterloo where he provides financial support for students in financial need.  

Ben, through his partner Harvey, has five more animals in his life than he bargained for and she convinced him to get a horse named Second Chance to ride and jump (apparently even horses deserve a second chance).  His other interests include cycling, playing soccer, skiing and reading.

James Mckay

James is a seasoned Financial Services Executive with Sun Life and currently leads National Distribution for its Retail Business. Prior to joining Sun Life, he was an Associate Partner with McKinsey & Company and is a former Engineer. James relishes time with his wife and two kids, and enjoys a range of sports and home renovation. He is an enthusiastic squash player and thrilled to watch his son compete in the game. James is passionate about the work that UST does and is a firm believer in the importance of keeping kids highly engaged during the critical years where UST focusses.

Alex Wu

Peter Corolis

Senior Wealth Advisor, Director, Scotia Wealth Management. Peter is an “adventurer”!! He trained on the 1972 Canadian Olympic Track & Field Team in Munich, Germany, and he had a tryout with the U.S. Olympic hockey team in 1975. He is very much involved in playing all forms of racquet sports, hockey and skiing, and, in 1982, he sailed across the Atlantic from the Canary Islands to Antigua. Prior to joining the investment industry Peter worked for four years in the Hospitality sector in Miami and Toronto with Laventhol & Horwath (PricewaterhouseCoopers) in their consultancy practice, and also received practical experience with Delta Hotels and Sonesta Hotels.

Anita Nador

Anita is a partner at Gowling WLG (Canada) LLP and a globally-recognized intellectual property strategist.  Anita grew up playing junior squash and is a former captain of the Yale women’ s squash team. She believes Urban Squash Toronto (“UST”)  is the ideal anchor in a young person’s life. As a mentor and board member, she delights in seeing the students build confidence, skills and passion on and off the court. There is a place for everyone, and no one gets benched. Outside of UST, Anita is also on the board of the Toronto Consort and an active supporter of the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada.

Rasheed Saleuddin

Rasheed is a teaching fellow and research associate at the University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School and the Department of Economics, having previously spent 10 years as a hedge fund manager in England and Toronto. He is keenly interested in providing for others the same opportunity to learn the game of squash, with the associated life lessons and camaraderie, that he was lucky enough to experience earlier in his life.

Josh Nevsky

Josh is a corporate restructuring and turnaround professional, specializing in transactions that assist companies solve complex business issues and create value. Josh is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional, Certified Trustee in Bankruptcy and a member of the Turnaround Management Association of Canada. In addition to squash, Josh enjoys staying active and playing baseball, hockey and cycling.

Graham McBride

Graham has been involved with entrepreneurs for over 30 years as a lender and equity investor, most recently as founder and President of LarchHill Capital. Sport, and particularly squash, have been central to Graham's personal life, with many friendships and business relationships emanating from these activities. He is a board member of several private companies, a member of the INvestment Committee of the Toronto Atmospheric Fund and an active alumni with his alma mater, Queen's University. 

Noorez Lalani

Mr. Lalani received a law degree from the University of Windsor, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2006. He also holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business, where he specialized in Real Estate Finance and Development. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Lalani received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario. Mr. Lalani is currently the President of MOD Developments.

Mr. Lalani currently sits on the Toronto Artscape Foundation Board of Directors and is a past Board Member of Distress Centers Toronto. Mr. Lalani also sits on the Strong Start, Great Future Campaign Cabinet for the YMCA of Greater Toronto and is also involved with several Canadian charities, including Covenant House and Night to Fight MS.

Gavin Lubbe

Tori Buffery

Tori is a Partner at Morningside Capital Management, a private equity investment firm. Prior to joining Morningside, she worked at the CPP Investment Board and BMO Capital Markets. Tori holds an Honour sBachelor of Business and Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. In her youth, Tori competed at the Canadian national level in pairs figure skating. She is currently competitive in long distance running and triathlons as well as enjoying golf and skiing, and is an aspiring squash player.
