Our Impact

A Bright Future for Young People

We empower youth through education, mentorship, and athletics, fostering self-confidence, discipline, and a sense of belonging. Committed to inclusion and opportunity, we help students overcome barriers and build brighter futures.

Empowering Lives Through Opportunity

We empower youth to thrive through academic support, mentorship, and athletic training, helping them build confidence, develop life skills, and unlock their potential for success on and off the court.

Making Dreams Achievable for Youth

Our mission is to empower children to transform their dreams into goals through academics, mentorship, and athletics, inspiring them to overcome obstacles, pursue their passions, and reach their full potential.

Who we are?

Urban Squash Toronto (UST) is a registered charity empowering underserved youth in the Jane-Finch community through a year-round, intensive program combining academics, mentoring, leadership, and squash. Partnering with Oxford Learning and York University, UST supports students from Grade 6 through high school to achieve their full potential. As the only Canadian chapter of the Squash + Education Alliance, UST is part of a global network dedicated to transforming lives through squash and education.

What we do?

Urban Squash Toronto (UST) provides a comprehensive after-school and weekend program combining academics and athletics. Students attend six weekly sessions at our Downsview Park facility, with transportation provided. They receive professional academic support through individualized learning plans developed in partnership with Oxford Learning and benefit from targeted squash training designed to build skills, resilience, and sportsmanship. UST also offers weekend drop-in programs for additional squash practice and tutoring, as well as opportunities for cultural events, local field trips, and squash competitions.

Why it’s important?

Urban Squash Toronto (UST) has transformed the lives of over 100 students, achieving a 90% attendance rate and a 100% high school graduation rate since its inception. UST students consistently improve academically, aim for a B average or higher, and develop self-confidence, athletic skills, and a strong sense of community. With over 90% expected to pursue post-secondary education—far surpassing the 55% average in the Jane-Finch corridor—UST fosters academic and personal success while promoting healthy, active lifestyles.
