Our Misson
Urban Squash Toronto is a charitable organization that combines an intense after-school education program with concentrated squash training to help underserved youth in the Toronto area reach their full academic, athletic and personal potential.
The organization helps motivated and talented youth broaden their horizons with an all round education, which includes, squash training, academic tutoring, mentoring, community service, travel, cultural trips, and more.
Founded in 2010, we are currently serving 25 students from the Jane and Finch area and will be adding another 25 students in January 2013. Our participates start in Grade 6 and we serve them through to the end of high-school and beyond.
The Program
The program is designed to give children an all round education. We offer our participants squash training, academic tutoring, mentoring, nutritional snacks, community service, travel, cultural trips, and more.
Most practices, participants spend one hour on the court in an organized squash practice, working on drills and playing matches and another hour of academic tutoring. Students are required to attend two practices a week in their first year and three times per week year
